About Patterson Monument Company
In 1920, Clyde C. Patterson started his monument business on Church Street in Ottumwa. His sons, Milton & William (Bill), joined the business and it eventually passed to them . At one point in time, Clyde, Milton & Bill also operated out of locations in Centerville & Pella.
Upon Clyde's death in 1967, all operations were consolidated to the Ottumwa location with a new facility built in 1968. In the early 1980's, Bill purchased Miton's share of the business and followed in his fathers footsteps until he passed in 2005.
The monument business was continued by Bill's daughter, Susan Patterson Wemer. After Susie's untimely passing in 2014, her husband, Rick, and son, Hawkeye Caramazza, carried on with the business.
In 2021, Hawkeye officially took ownership and, along with new technoligical advances, is keeping up the tradition of excellence started by his great-grandfather over a century ago.
